IT Service Management (ITSM)
G2SF is currently responsible for managing overall operations, sustainment, ongoing development and enhancements of the United States Marine Corps’ (USMC) IT Service Management (ITSM) Global Platform and associated IT infrastructure. This includes comprehensive systems development, Information Assurance, and Operations support of the BMC Remedy ITSM Suite and the HP Event Management Suite, as a fully integrated system that is accessible to all commands via the NIPRnet and SIPRnet.
G2SF provided Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) consulting support to the Office of the Senior Executive Secretariat Information Resource Management (S/ES IRM) at the United States Department of State. The Office of Information Resources Management (S/ES-IRM) provides exclusive information technology support and services to meet the unique needs of the Secretary, the Executive Secretariat, and other offices under the administrative umbrella of S/ES.
G2SF provided Los Alamos National Lab’s IT organization (ADIT) with IT organizational transformation consulting support through the introduction and adoption of an industry recognized IT service management framework based on the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) and ISO/IEC 20000 standards. As part of the Department of Energy, the Los Alamos National Lab enhances national security by ensuring the safety and reliability of the U.S. nuclear stockpile, developing technologies to reduce threats from weapons of mass destruction, and solving problems related to energy, environment, infrastructure, health, and global security concerns.
Mobility Engineering & Management
Since the project’s inception more than five years ago, the G2SF Mobility Team has provided the Nuclear Regulatory Commission with a wide variety of enterprise mobility services and support. Beginning in 2011, the Agency requested that G2SF develop a plan to provide Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) services to Government employees. After researching various vendor solutions, the Exchange Active Sync (EAS) configuration was recommended due to its simplicity and low need for infrastructure-based changes.
Security Engineering & Management
As part of G2SF’s Operations and Maintenance Contract in support of the Marines, G2SF is tasked with providing security requirements identification, analysis, allocation, and tracking support utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF). These efforts also include assisting the Government in retaining the Authority to Operate (ATO) through all software upgrades and capability improvements as well as developing and editing accreditation packages for the training, pre-production, and production environments.
In support of the NRC, G2SF is responsible for the Cyber Security Service function, including the operational security. The service includes layer 3 and layer 7 firewalls (Next Generation), MTIPS management and scanning, email filtering, web proxies, WAN optimization and encryption, centralized log management, SIEM, networks access control and wireless (802.11) control and defense. At the NRC, G2SF currently supports Cisco ASA firewalls, Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto Wildfire appliance, Cisco IronPort Email Appliances, Trustwave malware scanners, Tenable Security Center and Nessus scanners, Splunk, Symantec Endpoint Protection, McAfee ePO, IBM QRadar, What’s Up Gold, Riverbed, BlueCoat web proxies, ForeScout CounterACT NAC, and Infoblox DNS/DNSSEC.
IT Engineering and Integration
G2SF provides IT Engineering and integration support to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a wide variety of engineering related projects across the NRC enterprise. G2SF team members work directly with the NRC to create a partnership that focuses on creating forums to communicate decisions and requirements throughout the Commission to ensure that IT plans, solutions, and investments align with the NRC Enterprise Architecture and strategic objectives.
G2SF currently provides software application and process design/development/improvement, system architecture, systems integration, systems administration, advisory services, and computer based and classroom application training for the USMC. The G2SF Engineering & Integration Team has developed and/or enhanced software in our development lab, promoted pre-production software to the Marine Corps training stack, and released approved software into unclassified and classified production environments.
