Company History

G2SF INC. was incorporated in 2008, and although the company is relatively new, its members are recognized as pioneers in the successful implementation of IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices within the Federal Government. Dating back to 2001, G2SF’s founder, Gregory Smith, supported one of the first ITIL implementations with the Department of Defense when his team of process engineers were asked by EDS (since acquired by HP) to implement ITIL best practices on the Command Communications Survivability Program (CCSP) at the Pentagon post 9/11. This highly visible and successful program built a redundant network infrastructure within the Pentagon that is still being managed in accordance with the ITIL framework today. The successful implementation of core ITIL processes on CCSP lead to rapid growth for Gregory’s first service management company that was started in 2000. In fact, during the period between 2001-2008 the company realized double digit annual revenue growth from four primary lines of business: ITSM Consulting, ITSM Education, ITSM Enterprise Application Integration, and Technical Services that included network engineering, network operations, and network security. These services have been provided in support of numerous DoD/Federal Agencies and systems integrators including the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, United States Senate, Federal Reserve, Department of Justice, Security Exchange Committee, Pension Benefits Guarantee Corporation, U.S. Customs, U.S. Courts, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, EDS, and others. In 2008, Gregory Smith and Sean Fromm (G2SF Co-Founders), who managed the ITSM lines of business, left their first service management company to start G2SF. At G2SF, the Founders have been able to improve upon a successful business model that has provided significant value to numerous organizations for more than a decade.

With a sharp focus on the Intelligence and Defense Communities, G2SF’s mission is to radically improve end to end development, delivery, management and consumption of IT services by successfully leveraging industry best practices, frameworks, tools, methodologies, and standards (including ITIL, ISO 9000, ISO/IEC 20000/27000, Cobit, PMBOK®), Telecom Operations Map or eTOM®, CMMI, or Six Sigma. With more than a decade of practical experience implementing service management related best practices within the Federal Government, the company is committed to demonstrating measurable improvements in agency-wide operational efficiencies, infrastructure costs, and end user satisfaction. G2SF’s success is measured by the degree to which our clients realize these benefits.
